Flag Football
Two brothers have an idea.
The YMCA currently has open registration for Flag Football for grades 3-8. Historically there are not enough 7th/8th grade players who sign up for there to actually be a division for those upper grades. That is where Joe and Caleb have a grand idea...
- What if there were enough 7th/8th graders to fill a league this year?
- What if boys who play tackle football for school (like Joe) could enhance their football IQ playing recreational Flag games on the weekends?
- What if, in addition to learning more about football from dads and coaches, these boys got to explore calling their own plays on the weekends?
- What if enough boys from the school team participated to noticeably and positively effect their team's success while simultaneously filling the desire for unstructured play?
- Can we get enough boys together to enjoy some great sportsmanship and fun?
...Of course it would be cool to have refs and fans, too :-)
Motivation
Whether it is playing tackle or flag these brothers enjoy playing football together and they want to share that with their buddies.
After a fun and successful experience hosting a community 3-on-3 basketball league this Spring we are hoping to try something similar with flag football. We hope you will come join us.
